Drawing Strategies

Our last three classes are spent on one drawing. Mine will be fairly large at 36"x48", although there are no requirements in that respect. I have really enjoyed working with oil pastels, so I will continue with using that. My inspiration is hard to explain, but there is a figure behind a crumbling stone wall...

I started out covering the entire piece of drawing paper with a light wash of blue pastel instead of the oil pastels. Just to get something on the paper, so that I don't feel so overwhelmed by the large amount of paper to cover with the oil pastels.

I start with the wall, using an image I took of a crumbling stone wall taken while I was in Scotland last summer. And I want the majority of the drawing to have a blue cast.

The figure is put in after I get the outline of the stone wall done.

Now the background is a problem, I didn't really think about what that would look like.... but finally decide that I would like to feel the wind... and what would that look like?

Well, see for yourself...

This one has not been graded yet, as I will be turning it in tomorrow. But, I'm done.

Oh, I also created a bikini top to put on her when she is displayed at home...!
